Cutting the material invariably, these leaves saw marks. Whilst not an issue for sides that are hidden, exposed sides are best "dressed" to provide a premium finished appearance. Applied to all sides facing into the room.

This premium hand-worked finish is included as standard across our range as part of our signature finishing package. While these terms are often used interchangeably in the trade, please note the exact structural difference shown below: we do not offer machine chamfering (right) and specialise exclusively in this hand-worked eased edge (left) to ensure a clean, high-quality finish on site.

- What is included in the Signature Packages?
Every slab undergoes professional mechanical honing.
Edge easing is applied to remove sharpness, leaving a smooth, finished profile.
Slabs receive a deep-grain clean using K30 Stone Cleaner, and finally, clean water is used to remove micro-dust.
Visible faces and exposed sides are treated with Stovax Slate Dressing Oil to ensure a uniform, high-end look.
- Why do you seal using Stovax Slate Dressing Oil?
It enhances and protects the stone, delivering a rich, premium finish.
It guarantees tonal uniformity across all visible surfaces of your installation.
It eliminates the need for any initial chemical treatment or prep work on-site.
- Are all sides of the stone sealed?
We explicitly seal all top visible faces and outward-facing edges.
The underside and unexposed sides are deliberately left unsealed.
Leaving the underside unsealed ensures uncompromised adhesion with your bedding compounds during installation.
- Can I order bespoke shapes or single T-piece sections under this package
This express cutting service is strictly limited to standard straight cuts (squares and rectangles only).
This geometric limitation is designed to maintain high-velocity turnaround times and keep your costs down.
For complex templates and bespoke work, we partner with DSS in Shrewsbury.
They stock our large-format slate slabs and provide a complete turnkey fabrication service for our trade customers.
You will deal with DSS directly for everything from your quote to final delivery, ensuring specialised support for your custom project using our material.
- Does the stone arrive 100% ready to install?
Yes, it arrives fully pre-finished, pre-sealed, and ready to fit
Because transit and handling can kick up minor dust, we recommend a quick on-site wipe down with a clean cloth before final positioning.
- How flexible are your delivery dates?
Standard timeline: Our current processing workflow is 3-5 working days for fabrication, followed by 1-3 working days for transit and delivery
Booking delivery slot: Once fabrication is complete, we will contact you to firm up and pre-book a specific delivery date.
Tight Schedules: If your project timescales are very tight, please get in touch as soon as possible. We will review a range of options to try to accommodate your request wherever possible.
